Celebrities that Knit!

We had so much fun putting together this list of knitters that also happen to be celebrities! Take a look at how some of your fav stars pass the time and relieve stress with one of our favorite fiber arts.

Demi Lovato

Demi is always on the go so she finds time to knit between flights! We all know how relaxing knitting can be, until you drop a stitch of course.

Ryan Gosling

If he could design his perfect day, he says it would be spent knitting! ~SWOON~

Kristen Stewart
She has been frequently seen knitting on the set of twilight, but here she is in her natural habitat, shoving knitting needles into her bag.

Dakota Fanning
She has a thing for knitting, especially for her co-stars! She even knit Tom Cruise a scarf which he wore around the set of War of the Worlds!

Felicity Huffman
She took up knitting after having kids. Her knitting even inspired the title of a movie starring her husband called "The Wool Cap".

Kate Moss

The supermodel started knitting after her husband gave her a knitting kit for Christmas one year. We couldn't find a picture of her in action, but here's a shot of her from a Rowan Knitting catalog back in the 90's.

Monica Lewinsky
She used to knit often in the White House and was even seen knitting at the Clinton impeachment hearings! If you were wondering what she does now, she designs her own project bags and knitted handbags!

Robin Williams
One of the greatest of our time, in our humble opinion, was a knitter in the film "Mork and Mindy".

Catherine Zeta Jones
She even knit her entire family ponchos one Christmas!

Audrey Hepburn
That's right, in between Breakfast at Tiffany's, Audrey was getting her knit on!

Morticia Addams
One of our favorite TV moms knitting away on the set of the Addams Family. We can only hope that she knits off screen too!

Sarah Jessica Parker
This "Sex and the City" star has been repeatedly spotted knitting on and off set. In a Goodhousekeeping article, Sarah was asked how she relaxes. Her reply was:"I read, watch TV, or knit. But I try to knit and watch TV at the same time, which means I end up with many dropped stitches". Read more here.
Kristen Davis

SJP's Sex and the City costar knits too! In Lifetime magazine Kristin talked about her passion of knitting for others and with her knitting club. A recent Huffington Post article here cites Kristen as having taught Blake Lively how to knit - way to spread the love, Kristen!

Ashton Kutcher
Yep, Ashton reportedly knits. It even got him a spot in a Lenovo commercial!

Christopher Walken
Who needs to look at their needles while they knit? Not Mr. Walken!

Kate Middleton
She reportedly wanted to knit her own baby blanket for her royal baby. Read the article here.

Kurt Cobain
He looked mighty awesome with yarn in his hands. Although he's crocheting we felt compelled to add him to this list. I mean, come ON, it's Kurt!

Marilyn Monroe
Here she is knitting on the set of 1960's “Let’s Make Love”...because she could.

Angela Lansbury
She used to knit socks in bed well before her famous role on "Murder, She Wrote".

Christina Hendricks
She always knits on set in between shoots for "Mad Men".

George Lucas
You didn't think George thought up all those stories in a galaxy far, far away without incitement, did you? Knitting was the stimulus!

Darth Vader

Uma Thurman
People say she's obsessed with knitting! What, is that supposed to be a bad thing?

David Arquette
His grandmother taught him to knit. How sweet! David loves knitting so much that he appeared on the cover of Celebrity Scarves 2 to support breast cancer research.

Vanna White
She is an avid knitter and crocheter. She even has her own yarn line with Lion Brand!

Katherine Heigl
She blogs about her life and crafts, here. She has even stated that she has thought about opening up a knitting shop.

Keifer Sutherland
Hard to believe, but this "Taking Lives" Star loves to knit!

Russel Crowe
I know what you're thinking: "Is this real?" YES. Apparently, Mr.Crowe has a thing for knitting!

Amanda Seyfried
She has said that she considers knitting her therapy, much like a lot of us knitters do.

Ashley Olson
Because being a mega-fashion icon just isn't enough.

Julia Roberts
She has said that knitting is her favorite hobby. Check out the article here. Yarn clearly makes Tom Hanks happy, too!
