April 2018 Membership Crate Reveal

The first of April’s reveals is for our Membership Crate!

Every member this month will get two skeins of one of the four colorways shown, inspired by the American Southwest theme this month, Golden Hour. The yarn, Audine Wools Superwash DK, is a 100% Superwash, ultra-soft Merino wool. These yarns are gradient dyed from lightest to darkest tone, giving you some interesting options on how to use them: more on that in a moment.

The green yellow color in the top left is called Prickly Pear, and features a mix of olive and chartreuse tones. This colorway is inspired by cacti and shrubs that grow throughout the desert.

The rich brown tones of Naturelle are perfect for neutral-lovers wanting to play with something a little more special than plain gray or taupe. These soft tones might bring to mind earthy soil, campfires, and rustic fences.

Capture a cloudless day with Endless Sky, a sky blue to medium blue-gray gradient that will be flattering on most skin tones.

Finally, the rich reds of Red Rock are inspired by iconic national parks like Red Rock Canyon and Arches National Park, amped up into tones of true red instead of orange-red, for a little more wearability. This yarn transitions from brilliant tomato to dark garnet.

Once you discover which of the colorways has landed in your mailbox, it’s time to get creative with the patterns this month! Designer Emily Johannes has created an exquisite, transitional, textured shawl that we think will be an instant classic. Cloris features seed stitch, short rows and garter stitch, and showcases the gradient dye of these colorways beautifully!

Crochet designer Abbey Swanson has created an equally beautiful option, the Tempest Cowl. With a delightful pointed edge and abundance of all-over textured stitches, this piece really captures the beauty of crochet in this delicious yarn.

This month has to be one of our favorite months of Membership so far, and we can’t wait to share more ideas for patterns and see what you make in the Ravelry group! Join us in the knit-a-long and crochet-a-long thread here.
