We’re having a little video technical difficulty this month, so will be linking the reveal video in a later post!
It’s time for the August crates to be revealed! This month, our theme was Take Wing, inspired by birds, feathers, and sky. The colorways in each of the Membership and Sock Membership crates have been named and dyed with specific birds in mind. The yarn base this month is super-soft 100% Superwash Merino Worsted in the form of Knitologie Worsted Merino. Each skein has 218 yards, and you’ll receive two of the same color.
First, we have the Energize Me vibe colorway, European Robin. This cheery little bird inspired early settlers to name the American Robin after him, although they are quite different!
Next, the Chill Out colorway is called Kestrel, and captures the blue and purple tones that hide under this bird of prey’s coppery wings:
Last but not least, our All Natural colorway is inspired by and named for the delicate and soft colors of the Bohemian Waxwing:
The patterns this month are beautiful, too, designed by Mary Dickerson and Ashlea Konecy:
Stay tuned to our blog later in the month where we’ll share close up pictures and more inspiration behind these beautiful knit and crochet patterns. Additionally, we’ve included a cute little extra in each crate: some KnitCrate logo stickers that you can add to your phone case, water bottle, notebook or agenda–perfect for repping your ‘flock’ wherever you go and finding other KnitCrate members in the wild!
We’d love to hear what you think of these crates! Join us on Ravelry where we’ve got a make-a-long for each pattern and are already busy dreaming up what other patterns might be perfect for this squishy, delicious yarn.
