It’s time to reveal what’s coming in this quarter’s Malabrigo Partner Crate.
First, let’s talk about the yarn. We love this vibrant, beautiful, exciting colorway from Malabrigo. Anniversario is a rainbow yarn that doesn’t feel too bright or overwhelming: you’ll find yellow, green, purple, pink, teal, blue and everything in between within, but they all harmonize so beautifully in the finished fabric that it’s truly a great example of the dyeing artistry of this brand. On deliciously soft, 100% Superwash Merino Mechita, two skeins gives you 840 yards of fingering weight to play with.
Each skein is unique, so we recommend either embracing the drastic change from skein to skein within your project (totally possible with this month’s patterns), or alternate your skeins every row or round to blend them together.
The knitting pattern this month was designed especially for this colorway and comes from another project I worked with Malabrigo on, Malabrigo Heritage. We’re featuring Celebracion, a cowl designed by Sabine Engel:
The crochet pattern, Excitations, was designed by Aimée Hansen! I asked Aimee what she would do with this beautiful, colorful yarn and this exquisite wrap is the best result we could have asked for. Truly a WOW statement piece that is crocheted on the bias:
The extra in this month’s partner crate is one of three colors of a fabulous, iridescent-metallic notions case. You’ll either get silver, hot pink, or electric blue:
We love these types of pouches for holding my notions and needles (especially double points) on the go, and they fit nicely inside larger project bags or drawstring bags to keep everything organized.
Also, we have a very cool bonus for members from Malabrigo–15% off the Malabrigo Heritage e-book with a special code that is included on the download page for members (there’s a postcard in your box with this URL.)
This month we had a little issue with printing and weren’t able to get the yarn and samples all in the same place to be photographed before the books had to be turned in, so hopefully this gift makes up for not having a physical book in this crate (something we typically include).
