Hello, Knitcrate friends! It’s February and our theme is Good Vibes Only, a wish for 2019 to be better for everyone in our community and beyond, a time of reflection on ourselves and our attitudes, and a call for us to be supportive of each other. We think that the Knitcrate family online does very well in this regard and we are wishing you all happiness this year (we hope to provide a little bit with these great crates, too!)
The yarn this month is one you know–Halo DK, our popular 50% Alpaca, 30% Wool, and 20% Nylon yarn that was so beloved in the October 2018 crates. Here, it’s appearing in two new colorways: iridescent, glowing green Malachite, and luminous, purple Electric Abalone. Each crate comes with two skeins that feature 236 yards (216 meters) each.
We love this squishy, soft yarn, and our designers did this month, too! Knitting designer Kiri Fitzgerald has created the stunning Belita scarf, a confection of lace and squishy stitches, plus a unique shape that is fun to style and wear:
Jennifer Hayes, our crochet designer for the month, has also designed something squishy and lovely to wear round the neck! Her shawl Belle Askew seems like a standard triangle shawl at first glance, but has some surprising details, while keeping true to a fun-to-hook texture:
There are even more surprises, announcements and more coming up throughout the week, so be sure to join us in the Ravelry group and chat about this crate and others while we wait for shipping day!
