The time is here - time to reveal the much-anticipated February Artisan Crate! Artisan is our chance each month to highlight an awesomely talented independent dyer, and this month’s dyer, Toby Roxane Barna, is dually-talented. She not only dyed all the yarn for the month, but designed the two featured patterns as well. Let’s have a look:
Um, isn’t that a GORGEOUS RAINBOW OF OMBRE-NESS? Unfortunately, we aren’t able to send everybody eight skeins (although that would make for a pretty epic box) – instead, we’re using this image to show you that you’ll get one of the blue skeins, a varying colorway called City Night, and one of the lighter skeins, a varying colorway called Warm Glow. That’s right – in this box, every skein is completely unique, so you won’t be getting the same exact thing as any other Knitcrater. Your box is only for you! You get 2 skeins of 100% Superwash merino, sport-weight, with 329 yards per skein.
The patterns in the box are both beautiful shawls that Toby Roxane designed for you. The Partition Street Shawl is a beginner-friendly pattern that features a traditional triangular shape and stripes at the edge:
And the Washington Street Shawl takes advantage of both colorways with a beautiful, undulating lace pattern:
Not only do you get both of these patterns, two gorgeous skeins of one-of-a-kind yarn, but you’ll also receive an extra with this shipment. Each box has two of the prettiest vintage buttons you’ve ever seen to add to your button stash for a later project. These buttons are from The DIY Experiment, one of our favorite drool-worthy sites for buttons.
