In all things of nature, there is something of the marvelous.
Together we are taking a leisurely stroll with this month’s theme, Wanderings. Fall in step with nature and get inspired by natural color, unfinished materials, and crushed pigments.

This month we partnered with our former Chief Creative Officer, and all-around awesome gal, Hannah Thiessen. We all miss Hannah so much, and we thought it was only right to have her be a part of this month’s journey. Her new book, Seasonal Slow Knitting, is now available for pre-order, and due to be published later in the year. As a KnitCrate member perk, you’ll be getting early access - about 7 months before anyone else - to one of our favorite patterns from her new book in the form of a digital bonus pattern mid-month on your downloads page. You can work on them together with Hannah herself and follow along via the KnitCrate MAL Ravelry group, her personal Ravelry group (Pursuing Slow Knitting), her website www.hannahthiessen.com, and her Instagram, @hannahbelleknits. See you there!
Introducing the La Brebis
This new base is a light Alpaca that is made up of 100% Baby Alpaca in fingering weight with 4-ply and 400 yards/100 grams per skein. Each crate will include 2 skeins of the same colorway.
Energize Me: Dogwood Berry
A subtle cranberry tone featuring bits of yellow and taupe to make up a heathered feel that is easy for everyone to wear.
Chill Out: Ancient Pines
A tranquil blend of blue-green and teal make up this deep shade, reminiscent of a lush pine forest.
All Natural: Chestnut
Peeking through a deep rust base, rich warm red and amber tones come together to add a gentle glow.
The patterns this month come to us from Designers Renate Kamm and Safaa Amin.
The knitting pattern is the Decumani set - a beautiful hat, and cowl set by Renate Kamm. Here it is pictured in our All Natural colorway, Chesnut. It is a lovely mocked cable pattern, with no cable needles needed, knitted in the round.
Our Crochet pattern Sea Shell by Safaa Amin is a lovely capelet with a solid part that defines the neck and the main body that shows off the beautiful shell stitch. Here it is pictured in our Chill Out colorway, Ancient Pines:
Our bonus Seeds & Stems Cowl pattern designed by Hannah Thiessen will be released later in the month through your digital downloads page. She was inspired by the idea of tiny hedgerows and seed pods, aligned neatly in formation and then wrapped around the neck in a haphazard, casual way.
Sock Crate Membership
Bring some sparkle to your toes with the URU. Yarn Sugared Sock. This base is made up of 70% SW Merino, 20% Nylon, and 10% Stellina. It is fingering weight with 399 yards/100 grams per skein. Each Sock Crate includes 1 skein that is enough for one complete pair of socks.
Energize Me: Blood Moon
Two tones of magenta blend together here to create a dimensional and vibrant shade of sparkly pink.
Chill Out: Hidden Pool
We are getting back to basics with this blend of blues that reminds us of clear skies and sitting by the pool.
Estamos volviendo a lo básico con esta mezcla de azules que nos recuerda a cielos despejados y sentados junto a la piscina.
All Natural: Stony Outcrop
A melange of dark and light shimmery greys make up this twinkly colorway that reminds us of different phases of the moon.
The patterns this month come to us from Nicole Bracey and Jenny Newman.
The Knitting pattern is by Woolfield - Nicole Bracey. The Heartfelt socks are inspired by the philodendron plant. It’s a cuffed down sock with a leaf-like lace pattern. Here we have it in our Chill Out colorway, Hidden Pool.
The crochet pattern Rhythmic Ramblings by Jenny Newman has winding cables and a padded thickness. Once you start you just fall into an easy rhythm.
That wraps up all of our crates for March! Which are you most excited about receiving?
