The last of our crates to reveal this month is the Sock Artisan Crate! Inspired by the rich blues and purples on the mood board for this month’s theme, TactileDactyl created this beautiful colorway on her TD Classic Sock: a 75% Superwash Corriedale, 25% Nylon base. If you’ve never knit with Corriedale before, you’ll find it a slightly bouncier, woolly wool with a great hand and durability that makes it great for socks. Each skein has 434 yards and is a hefty 115 grams–a bit larger than your average sock yarn!
The pattern this month is from designer Pam Sluter. Her Berry Twist socks combine cables and ribs with this busy colorway to great effect. One of the things we love most about ribbing in the body of any sock is the fit–these should happily snug around a variety of sizes without any modifications. The end effect reminds us of blueberries and faded jeans.
The extra this month is a set of needle coils. These handy tools keep double points together when traveling or in storage. They’ll make sure you always find all five sock needles, not four!
Join us for all the fun–waiting on the mailman, chatting about the crates and knitting together on these great socks, in the Ravelry group!
