Inspiration: Stratified Socks

“Happiness is held in the seed and expressed in the flower it produces.” What a lovely image to describe Kristy’s pattern. The stitches in this pattern remind us of soil, seeds and flowers. Each stitch is placed carefully within the pattern, stitch-by-stitch as if seeking the sun to ultimately bloom into these beautiful socks. The yarn provides the “soil” for her stitches. As every gardener knows,...

May Bonus: Jounce

There is nothing like the fresh scent of citrus to wake up the senses and put a spring in your step! Sunshine that you can wear, creating a halo of softness and warmth around your neck, how fantastic!

This cowl’s brioche stitches result in a yummy fabric that has a thermal, waffle-like texture. The cashmere content of the yarn, and the movement of the yarn back and forth provide pure knitting...

Inspiration: Leaf Dance

From designer Chlo Fourtune-Ravard (Tisserin Coquet):

March winds and April showers bring May flowers. A beginner can follow it and...

Inspiration: Birdseed

image

From designer Hannah Thiessen:

Im all for breaking up a busy variegated colorway, and this months Titmouse colorway has the potential to be busy, so I tackled it with double slipped seed stitch. The end result reminds me of brightly colored birdseed scattered around my birdfeeder, which is fitting, since the colorways namesake, the Crested Titmouse, is a frequent and delightful visitor!
