For November, we are thrilled to have crochet and knit designer Vincent Williams of Visuvio’s Craftsas our influencer partner! One of the first things that Vincent discovered on his maker journey was a lack of accessory options for tall guys in particular, and overly feminine designs and colors. Motivated by this, his affinity for...
This month, we’re excited to partner with Our Maker Life as our crate influencer. If this is your first introduction to the OML community, you are in for a real treat! The making community created by founders Jewell Washington and Nathan Bryant is filled with makers of all sorts: knitters, crocheters, yarn dyers, designers, and more. Along with team members Christie Bodden and Jake Kenyon, this network of makers are a constant source of inspiration to fiber artists everywhere.
And, as a special treat, Jewell Washington (pictured here) and Christie Bodden are the designers behind our Membership Crate patterns!
The theme for August is Vividarium and it inspired a collection full of strong, bright, and vibrant colors in our yarns this month. We are taking a leap into the intense shades of exotic blooms found in the bountiful beauty of nature.
Now let’s meet this month’s yarn! Click below to watch the full reveal on Youtube.

For August, our featured Membership yarn is our Vidalana Linen Jewel: 50% Superwash Merino Wool, 30% Linen, and 20% Silk. This yarn is fingering weight and 400 yards (366m) per 100g skein. Light and elegant, you will treasure this yarn blend!
Energize Me: Midsummer Rose
This deep magenta shade has us thinking of the saturated colors of flowers in full bloom.
Chill Out: Oasis
The crispness of this colorway has pale green and blue tones often found as leaves unfold in your favorite foliage.
All Natural: Sandstones
This shade has us thinking of the blush hues found on sandstones, especially in the glow of the sun.
Membership Patterns
This month’s knit pattern comes to us from OML’s Christie Bodden of Christie Bodden Designs. The Simple Summer Shrug is a simple, quick-to-knit shrug perfect for casual and formal summer nights alike. Designed for Women’s sizes Small to 2X.

This month’s crochet design is both classic and cozy. The Pier Shrug by OML’s Jewell Washington is a textured crochet beauty worked by holding the yarn doubled. The pattern is written for 2 different styles: a shorter shrug style that can be created in most sizes with the skeins included, and an oversized cozy cardi style that will have you indulging during Double Down.
For August, our featured Sock Crate Membership yarn is Knitologie Super Sock, a 75/25 blend of Superwash Merino Wool and Nylon. You’ll have 400 yards (366m) of fingering weight in your 100g skein to create your next pair of socks.
Energize Me: Succulent
Green succulent petals are the inspiration behind this cheerful colorway with yellow undertones for a little extra glow.
Chill Out: Gibbous Moon
This periwinkle shade reminds us of how we sometimes get a glimpse of the moon during the day. A little nighttime gray meets the bright blue of the daytime sky to create pure magic.
All Natural: Tuscan Sun
Feel the toasty rays of a warm Tuscan Sun with this muted mustard yellow with sunflower undertones.

Our very own Joanna Rankin has us diving deeply into knit textures with the Rise & Shine Shawl. A little garter and stockinette stitches with a dash of lace and a splash of slip stitches play well as you work with both the fuzzy single ply and lustrous silk yarns.
Our crochet design this quarter is from Amy Gunderson who brings us Flores de Jardin, an asymmetrical shawl with loads of laciness and charm. She’s used Mechita for the body and Mora for the finishing touch on the edging. Both written and charted instructions will have this project from skein to finished in no time!

Any fairy tale can come true with the right yarn!!
We’re drifting off with this month’s theme, Once upon a yarn—a candy-coated world where deadlines don’t exist and there’s always more time to cast on for something new.
This year, each of our crates has been made in collaboration with some of your favorite Knit and Crochet influencers!
For February we partnered up with one of our favorite...
Feathers have been used in clothing design for decades: from the Victorian rush on hats that inspired the Audubon Society’s formation, to the beautiful and intricate ceremonial work of the Indigenous Peoples of the Americas. Whether used for costume, ceremony, or everyday wear, humans have always been drawn to the beauty of bird’s plumage.
‘Masquerade’ by Katya Novikova requires no actual...
The colorful plumage of birds always inspires and captivates our attention. Malabrigo Yarns colorway Maricabo (custom dyed for us on their luxurious Silkpaca base) does more than catch our visual attention; it also delights our hands with the combination of alpaca and silk in a delicate lace weight. What a perfect yarn for Stephanie Voyer’s ‘Pretty Leaves Cowl’ pattern!
We’re having a little video technical difficulty this month, so will be linking the reveal video in a later post!
It’s time for August’s Malabrigo Partner Crate reveal! This month, our theme was Take Wing, inspired by birds, feathers, and sky.
For this month’s Malabrigo Partner Crate, we’ve taken inspiration from the airy quality of this theme and chosen Malabrigo Silkpacaas the featured...
