A cute, easy layering piece for 3 seasons, Fig is a relaxed cardigan with 3⁄4 length sleeves and a slightly cropped length. Ribbing at the hem adds a hint of waist shaping.

Serena, an alpaca/cotton blend yarn, adds great drape with a light weight fabric.

Sweater is knit top down with shoulder shaping for a back leaning “seam”.

Needles: US 3 (3.25mm) 28”/70cm or longer circular; double point needles, or 12”/30cm circular for upper sleeve, or size to obtain gauge 
US 2 (2.75mm) 32”/80cm or longer circular for front band, double point needles for sleeve cuffs

Notions: Stitch holders, 4 removable stitch markers, 4 buttons x 5/8” (16mm), tapestry needle

Gauge: 25 sts and 36 rows = 4”/10cm in Stockinette using larger needles

Explanation of Construction: Sweater is worked from the top down in one piece, beginning with the back shoulders, fronts are picked up and continued from back shoulder, body is joined at underarm and continued to hem. Sleeves are worked separately and sewn into place. Button band is picked up and worked last.
