This pattern was inspired by the underground pit railways used to move miners, equipment and ore in and out of local gold mines in the Canadian north. The photographs were shot using historical pit rail tracks and equipment as the backdrop.

These highly textured socks feature a complex cable panel framed by simple cable columns. They are worked from the top down. The pattern includes charted cable patterns.


Sizing:  Small, medium, large
Yarn Requirements:  325 - 375 yards (297 - 343 meters) fingering weight yarn
Needles:  2.5 mm (US 1.5) and 2.75 mm (US 2) double point needles; small cable needle
Gauge:  8 stitches and 11 rounds = 1 inch in stockinette
