Sometimes a simple texture is all you need for a great sock. This beginner-friendly sock pattern is a great way to leap a basic vanilla sock to something with a tad more pep, without getting overwhelmed or lost in the flow of the pattern.
Worked in the round, Sylcan contains written directions and a chart for the pattern stitch. Instructions are for both cuff-down and toe-up. If you feel inclined to make 2 in the same direction, that’s completely acceptable, or one of each if you’re feeling particularly topsy-turvy! Sylcan features 7 sizes. You’ll also find a sock worksheet, so you know how to measure your foot to achieve a perfect fit. Sylcan has directions for an afterthought heel, but you may substitute whatever heel you enjoy using.
The pattern is written for the magic loop method for knitting socks; however, the pattern notes do contain details should you wish to use double-pointed needles instead.
